Publishing or presenting their research results in the scientific journals throw open a challenging platform for aspiring students, scientists and research scholars to showcase their findings and their innovative ideas. The students, teachers and research scholars have achieved fame while presenting multifarious articles on structural engineering and scientific topics on construction management in these journals. Subjects related to planning, analysis, tests and experiments, design, repair, monitoring safety and stability of structural components are regularly worked upon. As many as 100+ articles have been published in the International Journals and 100+ articles in the National Journals during the period from 2009-2020.
Seminars, workshops and conferences to provide a convenient forum for the exchange of scientific thought and ideas in the backdrop of Structural Engineering are regularly organized. The latest developments in the construction industry, innovations in industrial safety programmes on construction sites etc. are discussed in these open house sessions. Experts and eminent personalities from various industries and institutions are hosted by this Division to deliver speeches and to incite interactive sessions with students, faculty members, research scholars and also employees from industries and Government organizations as participants. During the period 2009 to 2020, 100+ seminars, workshops, conferences etc. have been organized.
Based on the directions of the Government of Tamil Nadu, B.E. Civil Engineering Programme in the Tamil Medium was introduced during the academic year 2010 - 2011. Since the Classes were being conducted in Tamil, to meet the rising need, nine text books and five laboratory manuals have been written by the faculty members of this Division.
